Why is OneTenthLuxury losing money despite having so many orders?
OneTenthLuxury has many customers across Europe, especially in Greece, Spain, and Portugal. I can’t claim that our products are the cheapest, but I can confidently say that our service is the best in the industry. Here’s how our order process works:
After a customer places an order on OneTenthLuxury, we proactively contact them to confirm the order details. Before shipping, we record a video of the product, showcasing all its details, and only ship it once the customer is satisfied. After receiving the product, if the customer is not satisfied, they can request a refund through the courier.

She has already purchased six items from our website, and she is a trustworthy customer who always signs for her deliveries. We truly enjoy doing business with such customers and offer them special discounts.
However, we also encounter customers that leave us puzzled and frustrated. Some customers change their minds after the product has been delivered and find various reasons to reject the order. Take this lady for example:
Before shipping, we sent her a video showing all the product details, and she said everything was fine. But when the product arrived, she changed her mind and didn’t want it anymore. What happens to products that customers refuse to accept? We are forced to sell them at a discount. Some customers take advantage of us by deliberately refusing delivery, only to wait for us to lower the price and then repurchase it. This kind of behavior is infuriating, and we refuse to do business with such customers.
Additionally, there are many competitors online who imitate our website, but they are all scammers. The products they send to customers are completely different from what was advertised. As a result, many new customers have lost trust in us.
Here’s a screenshot of our website’s backend. As of September 24, 2024, we have 990 orders that have not yet been shipped. We are hesitant to send them out because the customers hold all the power. Since we use a cash-on-delivery model, customers have the right to reject the product. When they do, we bear the full cost, and due to the high shipping expenses, we can't afford to handle returns.
If the product has quality issues, it’s understandable for the customer to reject it. However, when customers suddenly change their minds for personal reasons, it’s not our fault. Therefore, we urge customers to carefully consider what they truly want before placing an order. We’ve put in a lot of effort to help with this by designing our homepage menu like this:
